KNDO/KNDU Tri-Cities, Yakima, WA | 80,000 Additional Marijuana Plants Found East of Burbank

BURBANK, Wash. - More than 40 officers are cutting out close to 80,000 marijuana plants 3 miles East of Burbank.
Walla Walla County Sheriff Mike Humphreys believes this is all part of a Mexican cartel.
Using ATV's, helicopters and their own two feet, over 17 different law enforcement agencies are going through nearly 20,000 acres of trees to find and remove the plants.
This comes just weeks after close to 40,000 plants were discovered and 3 suspects were arrested in June.
Officers knew about additional plots then, but decided to keep them under surveillance in hopes of finding more suspects. So far they've only found more and more plants.
"We've been doing some recognizance of our own to try and locate where additional growers might be, but we hadn't had any luck until we actually put feet on the ground and started walking through these lots of trees," said Sergeant Gary Bolster.
With the plants they found in June and the find this week, we're told the street value of all the plants recovered is estimated at over $200 million.
