Associated Press - September 29, 2009 10:55 AM ET

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. (AP) - The Valley Christian School in Spokane Valley scheduled an assembly Tuesday to discuss the death of football player Andrew Swank.

The 17-year-old was injured in a game Friday at Washtucna and died Sunday at a Spokane hospital. His family agreed to donate his organs.

Valley Christian has postponed this week's game.

The Spokesman-Review reports players wore their jerseys to school Monday, and a small memorial had been set up in the school.

According to past research by The Seattle Times, Swank is the 12th high school player in the state to die of a football injury since 1936.
