Protestors filled 8-blocks of Pasco today to have their voices heard about a proposed Planned Parenthood that could open its doors near an elementary school.
Hundreds spent the day protesting a Planned Parenthood that could open near Mark Twain Elementary school.
"I think it energizes the community to think about different things that they don't normally think about every day and about family issues and the importance of keeping strong family values, James Toth who helped organize the event said.
However, planned parenthood is striking back, saying protestors are energizing the community for all the wrong reasons. One representative with the free clinic says the company works to help those in need, not hurt them.
"We'll be there to provide family planning that is reproductive health care and STI care to prevent abortions, so it's very ironic to me that the people protesting are protesting for the very things that we would be preventing," CEO of Planned Parenthood, greater Washington said.
Pasco city council members are still deciding whether or not the health clinic should be built. They are expected to make a decision in November.
