
KITTITAS, Wash. -- An Ellensburg Police Officer was hit by a drunk driver while he was driving another suspect to the jail.
Police say it happened at 11:20 pm Wednesday. They say an Ellensburg officer was in the city of Kittitas, arresting a juvenile suspected of theft.
While he was driving back to Ellensburg, he was hit by a drunk driver, identified as 60-year-old Ivan Hunter. Hunter caused significant damage, but there were no injuries. The officer was able to turn around and stop Hunter.
Kittitas police, a state trooper, and Deputies from the Sheriff's Office also responded.
Hunter was arrested for DUI by the Washington State Patrol trooper. The collision was also turned over the WSP for investigation.
