SPOKANE, Wash. - Fire crews were able to knock down a fire that severely damaged a home located on in 1300 block of Cleveland Ave. The fire was first reported at 10:27 a.m. Saturday morning and when fire crews arrived on the scene heavy smoke and fire could be seen pouring out of the roof of the home
The fire was burning in the homes attic and was moving hot and fast. Crews were able to hit the main body of the fire from inside and below and push it out of the vent holes that had been cut in the roof.
The home sustained considerable smoke and water damage throughout the house and the electrical supply to the building had to be disconnected. It's estimated the fire caused around $30,000 in damage.
Fire officials say and unspecified electrical problem appears to be the most likely cause of the fire.
A representative from the American Red Cross says they will be assisting the two adult residents and their dog by providing them with food and shelter. The two residents made it out of the home successfully and avoided injury.
