Tri-Cities Fever Switch Leagues

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- The Tri-Cities Fever are on the move but it is to a new league, not a new city.

Fever Owner Teri Carr said today that the Fever will play in the Indoor Football League, not the New Arena Football One.

The reason, the 2nd Tier of the AF1, which the Fever were going to be a part of, is folding because they couldn't get enough teams to play in it.

In the new league, the Fever will likely play teams in Montana, Alaska, and Colorado but not Spokane or the new Yakima Valley Warriors team.

Carr said the league change had to be made.

"Basically, the Arena Football One left Tri-Cities with two choices, football or no football," said Carr. "That was it. That was our choice, to me, no football was not an option. I'm not going to fold the team so I had to look elsewhere to play and the only other league that I felt was an option was the Indoor Football League, the IFL."
