Hundreds line the streets for H1N1 vaccine

Posted: Updated:

Umatilla County locals waited several hours to get an H1N1 vaccine at Hermiston High School this morning.

Six thousand doses were shipped and available today at today's clinic in Hermiston. It was open to everyone who lives in Umatilla County and all doses of the vaccine were free.
Today's clinic focused on those in the priority risk groups: children, pregnant women and anyone with chronic health disorders between the ages of 25 and 64.

Volunteer workers say all doses were not given out. The remaining doses will be sent to doctors this week.

If you live in Umatilla County and missed today's clinic don't worry, there are two more scheduled already. The next one will be in Milton Freewater on December 1st followed by one in Pendleton on December 19th.

The Benton County Health District explained that no mass clinics are expected anytime soon as doses of the H1N1 vaccine are still trickling in.
