ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Four people are under arrest in Anchorage after 23 pounds of methamphetamine were seized from a vehicle being shipped to Alaska from Washington state.
Arrested on federal drug charges are Jared Lisenby of Anchorage, Ricky Reese of Wasilla and Long Beach, Calif., residents Ronald Hall and Debja Steilen.
The cases are being handled by prosecutors in Alaska and Washington state. That's where the drugs were seized from a secret compartment in the 2005 Ford Explorer after it was allegedly put on a barge in Fife, Wash., by Hall and Steilen, who flew on to Anchorage.
In Anchorage, prosecutors say, fake drugs were put in the SUV, which was picked up by the Californians. They were followed to Lisenby's home, where the three were arrested Tuesday.
Prosecutors say an informant helped lead authorities to the intended recipient, Reese, who was arrested Wednesday.
