Family mourns dead after Pasco stabbing

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash;--A Kennewick family is in mourning today after a fatal stabbing in Pasco.

41-year-old Froilan Godines was stabbed multiple times yesterday morning outside the restaurant and bar El Patron where he worked as part of security.

We talked with Froilan's family. They say Tuesday, Feb. 9th is his birthday. It's another heartbreaking reminder of what they have lost.

At Froilan's home his daughter Karen brings forward old pictures. They paint a portrait of a happy family and a loving father.

"My dad was just the perfect dad," Karen Montes said.

Karen says they've always been a close nit group. Out of seven children she's one of the oldest and even through tears she thanks her father for being such an important role model.

"Everybody just loved him and there was just something about him that made you want to give him a hug," she said.

And the love he brought to the family is what they are working to hold on to during these difficult days. Froilan's family says what they struggle with most of all is how sudden his death was and how quickly it changed their lives.

Currently police are looking for two suspects in this stabbing. Second-degree murder warrants have been issued for 28-year-old Adan Virgen and 20-year-old Concepcion Virgen. When caught their bail will be one million dollars.
