Washington Policy Center offers solutions for small businesses

KENNEWICK, Wa;--The Washington Policy Center says Washington State has the second highest number of small business failures in the country.

That's part of the reason representatives started a tour of Eastern Washington towns to give owners and managers ideas to grow their business. The Policy Center says small companies need to band together if they want to see small business reform.

"We can't do this on our own, you know, we need small business owners all across the state to basically petition the state legislature and ask them to help improve the small business climate," says Chris Cargill, Director of the Eastern Washington office. "We can do it, it's just a matter of if we're going to come together to do it."

Cargill says the small business owners he's talked to so far say they're most concerned about possible tax increases.
