It happened around 8:00 p.m. at the intersection of North Benton Street and West Columbia Drive in Kennewick.

Kennewick police officers say a 60-year-old man was trying to make a left turn when he didn't yield to an oncoming semi traveling eastbound.

The man admitted he was distracted by the football game.

"With radios' and iPods and stereos we always want to make sure that drivers are paying attention to what they're doing," says Kennewick police officer Isaac Merkl. When they're in the car, their primary job is to make sure they are safely operating that vehicle."

The impact caused the semi's radiator to leak fluid onto the street.

Tow truck crew members helped clean it up.

The driver of the pick-up truck was given a ticket for failing to yield.
