KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Back to work for the Tri-Cities Fever. Monday the Intense Conference top seed got back to practice. The Fever is preparing for Friday's playoff game with the Colorado Ice.
The week off came at an important time for many banged up Fever players. Running back Dennis Kennedy (turf toe), cornerback Lionell Singleton (back) and defensive lineman Jake Killeen (swollen knee) are nursing injuries. The team says the bye week not only helped physically, but mentally too.
"We thought it was important to give the guys the week off to make sure not only physically well rested but mentally get themselves ready for the playoffs. So I thought the best way to do that was to allow them to go home, see their loved ones and take some time away from football," said Adam Shackleford, Fever head coach.
"I feel a lot better man. With the bye week I did a lot of treatment, chiropractor, massage therapy and heat and stem and stuff like that. So I feel a lot much better," cornerback Lionell Singleton added, who is nursing a bad back.
