Rain scrubs Bulldog roof work

Posted: Updated:

PASCO, Wash.- The rain Tuesday washed out plans to start work on replacing the roof at Pasco High School.

The school district says because of the age of the roof, workers must assume there is asbestos underneath it, so before the re-roofing can begin, workers will have to follow what is called asbestos protocol. All workers have to be trained and certified for removing asbestos, and they will wear protective suits and respirators while on the job.

Parts of the school will also be closed off while the asbestos work goes on, which should start Wednesday, weather permitting.
