KENNEWICK, Wash.- The Benton County Fire Marshal says the fire danger from June 27 to July 3 is high.
With fireworks going on sale June 28 at noon across Washington State, firefighters want to remind you to be safe.
Firefighters say a comment on mixing fireworks and hot weather is in order, especially with the forecasts indicating our area will be ready to burn before the 4th arrives.
- Adult supervision is a must
- Water in a bucket for dousing spent sparklers, and duds. Wait 20 minutes and then soak the dud.
- Charged garden hose
- Do not ever use homemade fireworks of illegal explosives
- Use common sense. Spectators should keep a safe distance from the shooter and the shooter should wear safety glasses.
- Alcohol and fireworks do not mix.
