Warnings about fireworks with fire danger level high

KENNEWICK, Wash.- The Benton County Fire Marshal says the fire danger from June 27 to July 3 is high.

With fireworks going on sale June 28 at noon across Washington State, firefighters want to remind you to be safe.

Firefighters say a comment on mixing fireworks and hot weather is in order, especially with the forecasts indicating our area will be ready to burn before the 4th arrives.

Adult supervision is a must
Water in a bucket for dousing spent sparklers, and duds. Wait 20 minutes and then soak the dud.
Charged garden hose
Do not ever use homemade fireworks of illegal explosives
Use common sense. Spectators should keep a safe distance from the shooter and the shooter should wear safety glasses.
Alcohol and fireworks do not mix.
