RICHLAND, Wash. -- Richland's Queensgate area could soon have a new movie theater.
The city's planning commission will consider a proposal Wednesday night from Fairchild cinemas to build a new theatre near Gold's Gym.
Fairchild cinemas already has theater's in Pasco, Ephrata, and Moses Lake.
According to owner Jeff Fairchild the Richland location will be similar to the one on Pasco. It's expected to have 12 screens and 1,800 seats.
"We've been watching the Queensgate area for a number of years and just decided, growth is going on. It's happening and it's time to do it," says Fairchild.
When complete around 40 to 50 full and part time jobs can be added. Fairchild hopes to begin construction as early as August of this year and hopes to have it finished early in 2014.
