Former teacher charged with rape has a trial date

KENNEWICK, Wash., -- A former Hanford High School foreign language teacher accused of having sexual contact with a 16-year old student was in Benton County court this morning.

58-year old Daryl Rachinski pleaded not guilty to 3rd degree rape, a class C felony.

Richland School District officials say the allegations do not involve school district property or activities.

Rachinski is set to appear back in court on August 2nd for an omnibus hearing.

A trial date is set for September 17th.
