Cantwell to visit B Reactor visitor center

Posted: Updated:

RICHLAND, WA – On Friday, U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell will join local business owners, visitor bureau representatives and B Reactor preservation advocates to highlight how creating a B Reactor National Historical Park would create jobs and support local businesses.

Cantwell will release a report on the impact this designation would have on the local economy and jobs.  Cantwell is a lead sponsor of the Manhattan Project National Historical Park Act, which would preserve historic sites at Hanford, as well as nationally significant Manhattan Project-related sites at Los Alamos, New Mexico, and Oak Ridge, Tennessee. A National Historical Park designation would give Hanford sites the same status as Independence Hall, Valley Forge and Abraham Lincoln's birthplace.
