Yakima, WASH.--Valley Marine in Yakima has picked up business just as temperatures seem to be picking up as well.
Dan Allen, the owner of the boat dealership said this past week has been especially good for sales.
People are gearing up for the heat wave by purchasing recreational water gear and boats. Lots of people were out on the Yakima River Saturday afternoon using their boats and just trying to stay cool.
Allen said, "We had some warm temperatures earlier this season, but nothing like this. So this time of year when it gets hot like this, a lot of the water toys fly out of here in a hurry."
Trina Galen was at the Roza Dam Saturday. She said the 90 degree weather influenced her decision to cool off in the river.
"I am going to go up the Yakima River, and I am going to float, and I am going to play in the water a lot," said Galen.
Temperatures are only going to keep rising. According to the National Weather Service, Yakima may hit a near-99 degree record Sunday.
