Ridin' for Rover fundraiser

KENNEWICK, Wash.-- The annual Ridin' for Rover motorcycle event for homeless pets took off on Saturday from the Kennewick Full Throttle Motorcycle store.

This year's ride benefits the Pet Over Population Prevention clinic that works to lower the number of unwanted animals. About two hundred fifty riders participated and two hundred local businesses sponsored the event. They raised money from entry fees, raffle ticket sales and donations.

Molli VanDorn from Pet Over Population Prevention says events like this one are very important to them.

"Very meaningful to us to have people who care about pets and bring items to help them and enter events like this to further programs that will help pets," says VanDorn.

All of the proceeds stay local and go directly to Pet Over Population Prevention.
