RICHLAND, Wash.- Organizers say this year's Mid-Columbia Pride Celebration is all about family.
The march starts at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Federal Building parking lot on Swift and Jadwin and ends at John Dam Plaza, where there will be games for children, a beer garden for adults, food, vendors, and music.
"It's yay, we're here, yay we can be out and safe in our community," says Mark Lee. "Every year it gets better. The first year was a block party, nervous, quiet, back alley sort of thing. And this year we're at John Dam Plaza."
The sixth annual celebration kicks off at 9 p.m. Friday at Ray's Golden Lion at the Uptown Shopping Center. After the Saturday festival, the party moves to the West Richland Golf Course.
