Union Gap, WASH.--Union Gap City Council approved a new government position Monday night.
A management analyst will be recruited to review financial data, project budgets and secure city grants.
City Administrator Chris Jensen said Union Gap is facing many department and facility issues, and the management analyst will help fix the problems while making sure the city doesn't overspend.
"Change is good sometimes and change will stimulate and motivate employees in a variety of different ways and I think this is our time," said Jensen.
The management analyst will also be responsible for providing citizens with important information so they can better understand their government.
The city is looking to fill the position by September 1st.
