Yakima, WASH.--The 5th annual Fiesta De Salud health fair returned, bigger and better than ever.
Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital, the Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic and Fiesta Foods all work together to provide free health information and services for families.
Volunteers said they give out fresh fruit to encourage nutrition and books to promote higher education. Seattle Children's Hospital attended and gave out 500 helmets.
Maria Benavides, a spokesman for the Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic, said, "It's a great opportunity for people to learn about the services in their community. We believe in our communities. We want to make sure our children our healthy, and our families our healthy."
Fiesta De Salud had over 100 volunteers and more than 30 different community partner agencies. Around 6,000 people were expected to participate.
