Weston City Water System Repairs Continue

Posted: Updated:

WESTON, Ore. - People in the Eastern Oregon community of Weston are going on day four without drinkable water. A mudslide took out a section of the city water main early Saturday morning. The problem is affecting more than 300 people. Weston Police say the city expects a construction company to replace the pipe later today after an OK from a La Grande civil engineering firm. City officials say the slide was caused by a leaking 14-inch pipe that services Smith Frozen Foods. Saturday's break is the second time city water customers have gone without water since mid-April.
