POST FALLS, Idaho -

A Little League baseball team from Post Falls has the opportunity of a lifetime, but they need the support of a community to make their dreams come true.

The 11-12-year-old team from Idaho is headed to the Northwest Regional of the Little League World Series in California. They leave this Wednesday.

On Monday, the team held a barbecue to raise money to pay for their trip. And the community came out and showed great support.

"It's an amazing feeling, it was awesome to win state," said young Kodie Kolden, a short stop. "It's a hard way to get there, but it's fun doing it, too."

"We had a tough battle against Coeur d'Alene and Hayden and all those guys out there, and I just think it's the best feeling I've ever had," added outfielder Jonny Hillman.

"There are about 6,000 teams in the world that start the journey in June, and to be one of those 100 teams I'd say is quite an extraordinary feeling," said Brock Zeller, an outfielder. "To be the best in the great state of Idaho is another great feeling."

The barbecue helped defray some of the expenses, but every little bit helps. Anyone wanting to help the boys on their way to San Bernadino can donate directly to any boy on the team – or their parents.
