PASCO, Wash. -- Second Harvest is one step closer to opening their new Pasco distribution center.
Crews began pouring a special concrete for the warehouse's 2,000 square foot freezer today. The new warehouse will also include another 2,000 square feet of cooler space.
Volunteers have made the project possible. Area construction workers have donated more than four-thousand man hours so far.
"The concrete today will be finished, the steel stud framing on the interior will be finished up, the steel structure itself will be completed today. It's just been a great opportunity for our members to come out and donate their time," says Vice President of the Building Trades Council B.C. Smith.
Administrators expect volunteers to finish the warehouse by the end of August and have it operational by the end of September.
