YAKIMA, Wash.-- An early morning fire in Yakima caused some severe damage to a portion of an apartment building.
When firefighters arrived at the 4500 block of Nob Hill Boulevard they found heavy smoke and fire coming out of an upstairs apartment.
Firefighters had the flames out within 20 minutes, but it still destroyed the upstairs apartment.
"Smoke and fire damage throughout, we had to cut a hole in the roof... Fire extended down the wall to the lower apartment to the exterior of the lower apartment," says Yakima Fire Battalion Chief Abel Castilleja.
There were no serious injuries, but two people were treated for smoke inhalation. The blaze caused nearly $70,000 worth of damage.
