UPDATE -- Benton County Fire District 1
says the fire was contained at 1000 acres. No property damage, cause
under investigation. 13 engines, 4 water tenders, 2 dozers and overhead
responded with 50 firefighters from Benton & Franklin Co., Richland,
Pasco, Kennewick.

BENTON COUNTY, Wash. -- Firefighters are responding to a 15 to 20 acre brush fire a steep canyon in Benton County.
State Route 397 is closed from Haney to Olympia due to fire traffic, WDOT says an estimated reopen time cannot be determined.
Kennewick Fire Department, Benton City District 2, West Richland District 4, the City of Pasco, and Benton County Fire District 1 is at the scene.
