Cle Elum, WASH.--Representatives from the American Red Cross Association said donations for victims of the Taylor Bridge Fire have been overwhelming.
But now, as they shift to helping people rebuild and repair their homes, the association is asking for monetary donations instead of items like food, water or clothing.
The Red Cross is also starting to bring in caseworkers to help people figure out where to go from here.
"We need to stop feeding folks in the shelters and start helping them move on with the next step of their lives," said Jerry Doughrity, a representative from the Kittitas County Red Cross Association.
The Red Cross is still providing shelter for evacuees at the Centennial Senior Center.
If people would like to contribute, they can donate directly to the Kittitas County Chapter of the American Red Cross.
