Ellensburg, WASH.--Volunteers at the Kittitas County Fairgrounds are working to move animals out so they can bring others in.
The Kittitas County Fair and Rodeo comes to town next weekend, and some fair animals will need a place to stay as early as Wednesday.
Volunteers said a large majority of fire evacuee animals are going back, but a small number are still coming in.
Volunteers are also still working to take care of the animals with needs.
"It's not just getting the animals out of here, but as far as making sure that we can decontaminate any pens and prevent any diseases," said Mark Kinsel, a veterinarian and volunteer. "There haven't been any diseases but just as a precaution."
If people still need a place to keep their animals, volunteers at the fairgrounds can connect you with someone willing to house them.
