EVERETT, Wash. –It has taken more than a decade, but a woman raped when she was 14 has seen her attacker sentenced to prison.
A Snohomish County Superior Court judge sentenced Daniel Peltier to 31 years. Police linked Peltier to the crime last year through a DNA match. He pleaded guilty in July to rape, robbery and assault.
Peltier is already serving a prison sentence in North Dakota on a conviction for sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl. If he's released from prison in North Dakota he'll be moved to Washington for the remainder of his term for the Everett rape.
