PASCO, Wash. -Franklin County prosecutors have added a conspiracy charge against a man about to stand trial for attempted murder.
Pasco police extradited Todd Stuart from California early this year to face allegations he tried to murder his mother-in-law.
Stuart's wife, Tashia Stuart, shot and killed Judy Hebert in March 2011. She claims she shot her adoptive mother in self defense.
Prosecutor Shawn Sant says he has a witness who will prove there was a conspiracy to kill Hebert.
Attorneys start picking a jury for Todd Stuart's trial next week.
Tashia Stuart goes on trial in October.
