Tri-Cities Cancer Center holding prostate cancer awareness seminar
September 12, 2012 -
KENNEWICK, Wash. - The Tri-Cities Cancer Center will host a free presentation on Wednesday, September 26 from 12:00 - 1:00 PM in their Wellness Center about Prostate Cancer Awareness.
Doctors say 1 in 6 men will get Prostate Cancer during his lifetime, and that it's the most commonly diagnosed cancer in men in the United States. With annual PSA screenings, it is possible to detect prostate cancer at its earliest stages when treatment has a very high chance of curing the disease. However, the US Preventive Services Task Force is now questioning the usefulness of PSA screenings. At the presentation, risk factors, signs and symptoms, possible treatment options for Prostate Cancer, and why testing has become controversial will be covered.
A complimentary lunch is provided with a reservation, courtesy of Tri-Cities Cancer Center Foundation. Please register for this presentation by September 24, 2012, online at www.tccancer.org or by calling (509) 737-3427. The Tri-Cities Cancer Center is located at 7350 W. Deschutes Ave., Kennewick.
