PULLMAN, Wash. -
Washington State begins the Pac-12 portion of their schedule Saturday with probably the best team they could possibly face, given the situation: Colorado.
The Buffaloes were blown out by Fresno State last week. They have yet to earn a win this season. But that doesn't mean Washington State is taking Colorado lightly. Everyone says they expect Colorado to bring their "A" game this weekend – a weekend that just happens to be Homecoming in Pullman.
"I think we'll go into this game just like we do every other one," said quarterback Connor Halliday. "Like what coach says: respect all, fear none... If you go into any game thinking you're going to blow someone out you're going to come out flat."
Yes, the Cougars have a winning record three games into the season. But…
"We're not satisfied," said defensive lineman Ioane Gauta. "We still want to win. So, we're excited right now. We're excited for this week to happen."
Gametime on Saturday is 1 p.m. (PT), and about 2,400 tickets were still available as of mid-week, according to WSU.
On Friday, the Homecoming Pep Rally and Bonfire takes place at the intersection of Colorado St. and Stadium Way at 6 p.m. The live music and cheer squads start their shows at 7.
