Yakima, WASH.--There was plenty of mud and smiles on Sunday during Yakima's first ever Pirate Plunder Adventure Race.
The Yakima Valley Sports Commission said they hope to make it an annual event.
It's a 4-mile race, broken up with pirate themed obstacles like mud pits, a water slide and ladder walls.
Participants got a medal at the end and enjoyed some food and music. Around 900 people took part.
John Richards said, "It was a great experience here. The obstacle course was awesome. Great workout and a great team building experience here for both of us."
"I don't know if I want to do it again....till next year," said Sara Prine.
Pirate Plunder was presented by Steve Hahn Volkswagen-Audi-Kia.
The Yakima Valley Sports Commission, Whiplash Sports and Yakima Parks And Recreation all worked together to come up with the idea.
