YAKIMA, Wash.-- The Yakima Police Department is holding an open house tonight to give you the chance to see what goes on at the station.
In addition to tours through the building, several groups including the motorcycle and swat units will hold demonstrations. Visitors will also get a chance to meet Chief Dominic Rizzi. Officers say the event is a way of showing taxpayers how their money is used.
"Most people don't get into the police department unless it's those who are on the wrong side of the law. So we want our citizens to be able to come in," says Captain Rod Light.
The open house is happening right now and ends at eight. It's completely free to attend all you have to do is show up at the building. Officers say the tour and demonstrations take about 30 minutes.
