Davis High School renovations back on track

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash.-- Renovations at Davis High School are back on track after the district reopened the project to contractor bids last night.

The district was forced to reject all bids on the project last month when they came in over budget. Architects revised the plan, cutting out certain improvements to the auditorium and using cheaper materials. The three current bids hit right in the proper range at around 65 to 66 million.

"It's really a comforting feeling and a lot of times you do have to go out for second bids after you make revisions to your project," says Superintendent Elaine Beraza.

The district will decide which contractor to go with this week and make any changes they need to the final building plan. The final bid will go up for a vote with the board of directors next Friday.
