Yakima, WASH.--Members of the Yakima Police Department spent the day taking peoples orders and serving food.
Saturday was the annual Red Robin Tip a cop day, benefiting the Special Olympics.
Police said they always enjoy the event, and usually raise around $3,000.
Special Olympics Washington provides sports training and competitions for people with intellectual disabilities.
"The funds that we raise today, that come in a special tip a cop tip envelope goes right to the Yakima County athletes," said Lieutenant Mike Merryman. "We take care of over 800 athletes here."
The fundraiser started at noon and goes until 8 p.m.
The goal for this year's event is to raise more than $150,000 statewide.
