BENTON CITY, Wash.
The Benton City man who was the focus of Monday night's 8-hour stand-off is facing multiple charges.
The Benton County Sheriff's Office says Dirk Vandermeer was making threats to harm someone and damage property. He also had weapons inside his house on Red Mountain Road.
The SWAT team was eventually called in because of Vandermeer's refusal to come out or communicate, and tear gas was used to enter the home and take the man into custody.
He was booked into the Benton County Jail on two counts of felony harassment and obstructing law enforcement officers.
