Public hearing to discuss possible doughnut hole zoning

Posted: Updated:

PASCO, Wash. - As the legal battles continue over an unincorporated portion of Franklin County, the City of Pasco is moving forward with plans to annex part of the land known as the doughnut hole.

The City's Planning Commission is holding a public hearing Thursday evening on possible zoning changes for that land and they are expecting a big crowd.

"There might be a lot of people there who might want to talk about annexation itself. But the planning commission isn't the right body for that. They don't make that decision. Their job is to make a recommendation for zoning for city council to consider," said Rick White with the City of Pasco.

White says he does not expect the planning commission to make any major changes and to keep the area as it is.
