Group opposing Referendum 74 holds rally in Richland

RICHLAND, Wash.-- A group of people who are against Referendum 74, which would legalize gay marriage, held a rally in Richland Saturday.

They held up signs along George Washington way in hopes of getting the word out to reject R-74.

They say that same gender couples already have the same legal rights from the 2009 Everything But Marriage Law. They say they want to preserve the current definition of marriage.

"This is really not about marriage equality. This is about an agenda. We are fighting back against this agenda because we believe that children deserve the right to have and know both of their parents," said Anne Berkey from Preserve Marriage Washington.

The group says they are also concerned that if the referendum is approved that religious groups will be scrutinized for opposing it.
