OREGON CITY, Ore. - A man accused of killing a woman from Gresham, Oregon has admitted to shooting her.
24-year-old Jonathan Holt first pleaded not guilty on Monday to killing his neighbor, 21-year-old Whitney Heichel, a barista.
The Clackamas County Sheriff's Department filed a report saying Holt told a State Police investigator that he shot Heichel after hitching a ride, pulling a gun, and forcing her to perform a sexual act.
Holt lived in the same apartment complex as Heichel and her husband. Court documents say Holt waited outside her apartment last Tuesday to ask for a ride, forced her to drive to the site of a drained reservoir in Clackamas County, shot her four times, and later concealed her body at Larch Mountain in Multnomah County.
