PASCO, Wash. - This Saturday marks the fourth annual "Make A Difference Day" in the Tri-cities.
Volunteer work goes from 9am to 1pm on October 27th at the Holiday Inn Express next to the TRAC in Pasco.
This year the goal is to assemble 500 care packages and send them to deployed troops who have Mid-Columbia roots. Ustroopcarepackage.com and the Columbia Basin Veteran's Coalition are helping in the efforts.
Richland Jackson's Sports Bar and Restaurant is generously providing lunch for all volunteers.
"We've always had a good turnout of folks. We've gotten really good response. Just come out, make a difference, volunteer and you can help make the life of one of our deployed troops even better over the holidays," said Hollie Logan, a MADD Chairs person.
This is the Mid-Columbia Make a Difference Day's fourth year. Last year, hundreds of volunteers cleared trails in Amon Basin and spruced up Claybell Park, including adding some new playground equipment for kids of all abilities.
