Two teenagers missing on hike in Cascade foothills

OREGON CITY, Ore. - More searchers have arrived to help look for two teenagers who disappeared during a day hike in the foothills of the Cascade Range south of Portland.

Clackamas County Sheriff ‘s Deputy Nate Thompson says the two are Boy Scouts experienced in the outdoors, but authorities don't know what kind of gear they took.

Thompson says the boys left West Linn on Saturday afternoon intending to hike and return to their car by dark.

Parents called for help when they didn't return on time. Searchers found their car Sunday five miles east of the Table Rock Wilderness area.

About 50 people are looking for 16-year-old Bradley Nelson and 17-year-old Jackson Chandler, and more are arriving.
