KENNEWICK, Wash. -- With visitors spending almost $350 million in the Tri-Cities annually, tourism is a very important part of the local economy.
Building and bettering local tourism was the focus of the 43rd Annual Meeting and Tourism Showcase in Kennewick Thursday night.
The event kicked off at with a business meeting, and later opened up to the public for a trade show.
People browsed over 50 booths to learn more about what our region can offer.
"I believe that the best thing you can do is get to know your own backyard. And in the Tri-Cities region, there is so many things to do. There's so many events and places to enjoy," said Tri-Cities Visitor and Convention Bureau President and CEO Kris Watkins.
The showcase was at the Three Rivers Convention Center.
