It's a rough start to the weekend for drivers trying to get across the Columbia River Friday night. The northbound lanes of Highway 395 over the Blue Bridge are shut down, and will stay that way through the weekend.
Earlier Friday afternoon there was bumper to bumper traffic near 395 and Clearwater Avenue, but most of it cleared up by 6 p.m.
Crews are replacing the expansion joints on the bridge, and the work will continue through the weekend.
There are some alternative routes drivers can use to get to Pasco, such as taking the Cable Bridge or the 240 West to 182.
The good news is that the Monday morning commute will hopefully look a lot better than Friday night's, the lanes should re-open by 5:30 a.m. on Monday.
