Yakima, WASH.--U.S. Senate Candidate Michael Baumgartner stopped in Yakima Saturday morning as part of his final campaign tour.
Baumgartner said agriculture is an important part of Central Washington, and he plans to speak with local farmers about their needs.
He said there are a lot of challenges facing the country right now, including unbalanced budgets and a stagnant economy.
However, he believes one of our biggest challenges is overcoming the gridlock in Washington.
"I spent a lot of time overseas in the Middle East as a diplomat in Iraq and Afghanistan, and sometimes I think it's more tribal here at home in politics with Republicans and Democrats going at it," said Baumgartner. "But I think those experiences and my experiences working with the U.S. military have led me to take on big challenges."
Baumgartner said he will be Bellevue with his campaign team during election night.
