WEST RICHLAND, Wash. - Thousands of pounds of food is now on the way to Tri-City Area Food Banks thanks to the 11th Annual Octoberfest Food Drive.
The Pasco Autoplex Dealerships teamed up with Tri-City Area Yoke's stores to present a check today for nearly 19-thousand dollars.
For the last month, the Autoplex Dealerships collected donations and even donated a portion of their October sales.
Yoke's stores also sold pre-packaged food bags.
Altogether, around 500 bags of food will be delivered just in time for the holidays.
"We serve about 600 families a month and depending on the size of the family, it would be quite a bit. So, it will go a long ways. It will really help us," said Don Boos with the Richland Food Bank.
This was the Autoplex's most successful year in the 11-year history of their food drive.
They collected more than 25-thousand pounds of food this year.
