UPDATE: PENDLETON, Ore. - Westbound I-84 is now open between La Grande and the Meacham area (milepost 265 to 242). The eastbound lanes are still closed between the Wildhorse Resort Exit, 216 (7 miles east of Pendleton) and the Meacham area (Milepost 216 to 245.)
The Oregon Department of Transportation said extreme winter weather is making for hazardous conditions, and several vehicles have spun out onto the roadway. No word yet on when crews will reopen the eastbound lanes.

PENDLETON, Ore. - Interstate 84 is closed both eastbound and westbound, between La Grande and Pendleton.
Crews with the Oregon Department of Transportation say they closed the roadway because of extreme winter driving conditions and multiple spun out vehicles that are blocking the roadway near milepost 245 (in the Meacham area.)
The eastbound lanes are closed at La Grande, milepost 265. The westbound lanes are closed at milepost 216, which is five miles east of Pendleton.
