PROSSER, Wash. - Kids all over the planet teamed up to try and break a world record in speed stacking today. 500 students at Keene Riverview Elementary in Prosser were part of the action.
The activity involves stacking and unstacking pyramids of cups as quickly as possible.
"There's research about eye hand coordination and reaction times and it helps both brains. I teach the kids their left and right side so they have to really focus on using both hands, and then you incorporate a lot of fitness activities," said Kathy Esparza, a Physical Eduction Specialist.
Organizers hope to have 450,000 stackers worldwide to break last year's record of just over 412,000.
