YAKIMA, Wash.-- Local celebrities in Yakima competed in the Ninth Annual Turkey Bowl at Grocery Outlet.
Police, firefighters, and three members of our NBC Right Now news team all took a shot at bowling with frozen turkeys.
For each strike, the store donated a turkey to the charity of the team's choice.
Local charities say the event helps a people all over the region.
"Food banks, clothing distributions, agencies that help the poor, agencies that help the sick, agencies for the aged, all across our community," said Rosemary Rief with Northwest Harvest.
Our team scored seven strikes this year. They chose to donate turkeys to Northwest Harvest and the Southeast Community Center.
